Oncology nursing care is part of a global approach to patient care. In this context, the nurse plays a vital role in supporting the quality of life of cancer patients, helping them to cope with their illness, to recover or, failing that, to support them in the face of death in the best possible conditions.
The oncology nurse is the resource person who informs the patient and his family about the care provided, the scheduled examinations, the treatments implemented and their side effects. He is the guarantor of respect for the patient's decisions regarding his own health.
